On July 8, IRCC invited 4,500 Express Entry candidates for permanent residence. The invitation was for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement was 369. This cut-off is more than the CRS score requirement in the last CEC specific draw of Express entry, in which the score requirement was 357, and 6,000 invitations were issued.
· ITA – 4500
· CRS – 369
Just like the other express entry draws, the IRCC applied the tiebreak rule as an administrative step in this draw as well. It is designed to help select among the applicants who have the same CRS score requirements. For this draw, the Tiebreak rule was applied before June 10, 2021, at 22:46:37 UTC. It means that all the CEC applicants who had submitted their profile before this date and time were not considered on the draw even if they had met the point score requirement.
There are twice as many Express Entry candidates selected by the IRCC this year as compared to the same time last year. With the current CEC draw, there are 93,842 Express Entry candidates so far in 2021.
The Canadian government has a high target of landing 108,500 permanent residents through the Express Entry system in 2021. The Coronavirus pandemic has caused certain disruption in this place as a lot of travel and immigrations restrictions had to be put in place to thwart the pandemic situation. However, since the Canadian economy is highly reliant on immigrants, the relocation cannot be completely ignored as well. Thus, The IRCC planned to meet the target immigrations et for this year by converting a lot of temporary workers into permanent residents.
Since the Pandemic has started, there have been a lot of program-specific draws conducted in which PNP and CEC applicants have been selected for immigration. The Scores have been fluctuated to meet the immigration needs of the country. The provincial Nominee programs specific draws have higher score requirements than the CEC specific draws because of the additional 600 points allotted to applicants against the nomination received.
The Express Entry program is a centralized selection system, and it is a points-based system for skilled workers to immigrate as quickly as possible. The three selection streams are - Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program.
The points of the applicants are calculated with the help of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) tool. The parameters that help in the point calculation are - work experience, education, age, official language skills, and other factors. The minimum point score is announced by the IRCC in the Express Entry draw, and those who meet the Point score are given the invitation to apply (ITA).
The ITA doesn't guarantee a Permanent Residency, but it is an approval to apply for the PR status. After ITA the candidate needs to submit the documents for assessment.
