Saskatchewan province announced the result of two PNP draws

There were two draws conducted in Saskatchewan province in October. First on October 21 and the second on October 7. The details of both these draws were highlighted by the province recently.

On October 21, 2020, the draw of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) selected immigration candidates in the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand categories. Prior to this, draw On October 7 invited candidates under the Express Entry category.

In the October 21 draw, a total of 618 applicants have received the invitations for permanent residency. Out of these, 340 were from the Express Entry category, and 278 candidates were selected from the Occupations In-Demand category. In the Express Entry, the lowest score required was 69, and for the Occupations In-Demand category, the lowest score required was 78 points.

In the October 7 draw, there were 455 Express Entry candidates who received the invitations. The minimum selection score for these candidates was 70.

The year 2020 has been an active year for Saskatchewan, and the Express Entry invitations sent this year have reached 3040. The Occupations In-Demand category invitations are 3018. Hence, in total, there are 6082 SINP applicants who have received the invitation.

The applicants should submit a SINP Expression of Interest (EOI) profile to manage the applications of the skilled workers. When the applications are submitted, then the applicants get selected on the basis of age, education, work experience, language skills, and ties to the province. The province uses the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid and assesses the score out of 100 points. The applicants who receive the highest score they are shortlisted for nomination by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

For selection in Saskatchewan, the applicants don't need a job offer to be successful, but they require at least one year of work experience in the eligible occupation related to their profile. The successful candidates need to submit an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to Saskatchewan.

SINP Express Entry Category

Saskatchewan's Express Entry category is linked to the Federal Express Entry system. The Express Entry system is divided into three subcategories -

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)


The eligible candidates for SINP will receive an invitation for the provincial nomination from Saskatchewan. The shortlisted applicants are also eligible for 600 bonus points in the Federal Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
