The Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Orderlies workers was announced on March 31. The new pilot program is expected to run for five years and select up to 550 Principal applicants to work as Orderlies. The program has been created to meet the shortage of health care workers in Quebec. The intake period for the pilot program started today and runs through March 31, 2021. It is the second permanent immigration pilot program that is launched by Quebec this month.

 

On March 24, the food processing workers pilot program was officially opened by Quebec Province. The program offers a pathway to temporary foreign workers for Permanent immigration who can get eligible jobs in the food processing sector. A third Pilot program is expected to be announced by Quebec soon on April 22, 2021. It will be a pilot program helping workers in the artificial intelligence, information technology, and visual effects sectors

 

The Quebec province will issue Quebec Selection Certificates (CSQ) to around 1,650 principal applicants and their family members annually through these three new pilot Programs of The province. the candidates should be working in eligible sectors that they can be selected.

 

Quebec province had announced the launch of these three permanent immigration pilot projects in 2020, and these programs would help meet the future skill shortages post-COVID-19

 

Quebec’s Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Orderlies

This program aims to select temporary foreign workers who can work as orderlies, nurses’ aides, and patient service associates. They are listed under the National Occupational Classification Code 3413 in Quebec, and the applicants are expected to be fluent in the spoken French language.

 

This pilot program has two streams under it: Work and Studies-work.


1) Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Orderlies: Work stream

To qualify under this stream, the applicant should meet the following requirements:

a) The applicant needs to have a diploma related to the field of orderly, which the applicant should have got after a one-year, full-time study program that is equivalent to a Quebec diploma of vocational studies; and

b) The candidates need to have at least 24 months of work experience as an orderly in the last three years from your application date

c) Minimum work experience of at least 12 months in a health profession, which should be related to basic personal care that is provided outside Quebec, and there should also be at least 12 months experience as an orderly in Quebec during the three years preceding your application date.

 

2) Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Orderlies: Work-study stream 

To qualify under this stream, the applicant should meet the following requirements:

a) The applicant should have graduated with the Quebec diploma of vocational studies that helped him enter the occupation of orderly two years before the date of application submitted.

b) The candidate needs to have at least 12 months of work experience as an orderly in Quebec acquired in two years from the date of submission of the application.

c) The Candidates must have completed the Institutional and Home Care Assistance study program and got the secondary diploma in vocational studies.

 

Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for food processing workers

It is the pilot program for temporary foreign workers who are currently employed in Quebec in any of the eligible occupations in the food processing sector. It is expected the applicants will have intermediate knowledge of French. The acceptance of applications under this program is from March 24 and until October 31, 2021

 

To qualify under this program, the applicant needs to meet the following requirements.

a)  The applicants need to have a high school diploma or professional studies diploma from Quebec.

b) The candidate should have a full-time job for at least 24 months in an eligible sector in Quebec.

c) Having a French Language knowledge of level 7 is important

 

The Eligible occupations under this category include:

1) NOC 9462      Industrial butcher, meat cutter, poultry preparer and related workers;

2) NOC 9617      Laborer in food and beverage processing;

3) NOC 9618      Laborer in fish and seafood processing;

4) NOC 6732      Specialized cleaner;

5) NOC 9461      Machine and industrial process operator in food and beverage processing ;

6) NOC 8431      Agricultural worker, but only the job title “chicken picker;” and

7) NOC 9463      Worker in fish and seafood processing plants;
