    Ontario PNP invited 72 workers

    Ontario PNP invited 72 workers

    On September 22, Ontario province announced the latest draw and selected 72 immigration applicants. It was the third In-Demand Skills stream of Ontario province and also the largest one so far. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has started selected applicants from the In-Demand Skills stream draw through its new intake system.  The province has now started working as per the new Expression of Interest (EOI) system and it has replaced the old first-come-first-served model. The applicants can now register at any time, and they can receive an invitation from Ontario. That means all those who have “expressed their interest” for a provincial nomination under an Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) can make the cut.

    In the general draw, There was 65 candidate invited. Apart from this, Ontario undertook a Regional Immigration Pilot and invited seven candidates.  No Minimum EOI score is asked for this stream.

    As per the National Occupational Classification (NOC) code, the skilled workers are also required to have the work experience

    Health and agricultural occupations:

    •        NOC 8431 – general farmworkers

    •        NOC 8432 – nursery and greenhouse workers

    •        NOC 8611 – harvesting laborers

    •        NOC 9462 – industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers, and related workers

    •        NOC 3413 – nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates

    •        NOC 4412 – home support workers and related occupations, excluding housekeepers

    Manufacturing occupations (outside the GTA ):

    •         NOC 9418 – other metal products machine operators

    •         NOC 9421 – chemical plant machine operators

    •         NOC 9422 – plastics processing machine operators

    •         NOC 9437 – woodworking machine operators

    •         NOC 9446 – industrial sewing machine operators

    •         NOC 9461 – process control and machine operators, food, beverage and associated products processing

    •         NOC 9411 – machine operators, mineral and metal processing

    •         NOC 9416 – metalworking and forging machine operators

    •         NOC 9417 – machining tool operators

    •         NOC 9523 – electronics assemblers, fabricators, inspectors, and testers

    •         NOC 9526 – mechanical assemblers and inspectors

    •         NOC 9536 – industrial painters, coaters, and metal finishing process operators

    •         NOC 9537 – other products assemblers, finishers and inspectors

    The In-Demand Skills Stream

    the In-Demand Skills Stream focuses more on provincial demand rather than the skill level of the applicant. A lot of occupations that are considered high skills are targeted, but there is a lot of demand in the low-skill job opportunities as well. Once the

    Foreign workers are provided with the eligible job offers in Ontario; they can apply for a nomination with nine months of work experience in the province in the past three years.

    In such a case, Seasonal work experience and Part-time work are not considered unless the minimum work hours are considered. The number of work hours should be 1,200 hours of paid employment in one single job that should be over 18 months, and the applicant can split the number of working jobs into different jobs as well.

    The candidates should also have a high school education, a language score of a minimum of 4 in all proficiencies, with sufficient funds.
