The 668 NOIs were received in the latest tech draws, and the minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for selection ranged between 460 and 468. It means that the applicants who scored in the range were eligible.

It was the fifth tech draw of the year of Ontario province. So far in 2020, Ontario province has issued 9,082 invitations in different streams - Human Capital Priorities stream (HCPS), French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream, and Skilled Trades stream. Out of these, Ontario has issued 7,819 provincial nominations as of 10th December.

How to get selected for the Ontario Tech Draw?

The applicants who wish to get selected in the Ontario tech draw should have a profile in the express entry system. The express entry system is divided into three categories - Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. The applicant needs to qualify the terms of at least one program to be shortlisted for the express entry program. The Ontario’s Human Capital Priority stream applicants from both - the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

The Express Entry candidates are ranked as per their score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) as per their education, work experience, age, and language proficiency. The selected applicants will have the skills and talent to meet the challenging rigours of work in Canada. The OINP Tech Draws invites applicants from the Express Entry pool and selects tech workers for provincial nomination.

Applying for a provincial nomination cannot be considered being on the same page as Canadian immigration. If selected candidates successfully get the provincial nomination from Ontario, then their chances of getting through the federal system of selection also improve.
