On 12 February 2021, the Manitoba province selected 207 immigration candidates for provincial Nomination. It the fourth draw of the year for Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). The province selected Skilled workers and international graduates in the following three streams:
· Skilled Workers in Manitoba;
· International Education Stream;
· Skilled Workers Overseas.
The Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued and the Expression of Interest (EOI) score requirement in the MPNP Draw was set as follows:
· Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 158 LAAs and a minimum score of 457;
· Skilled Workers Overseas: 21 LAAs and a minimum score of 698; and
· International Education Stream: 28 LAAs (no EOI score requirement).
· Express Entry candidates: 5 LAAs
Manitoba: Express Entry
The Federal express entry program is the main pathway for Canada Immigration. The skilled workers can quickly relocate to Canada through Express entry directly. However, IRCC has also made provisions where the provinces can also select appellants from the express entry pool through the Express entry Linked streams. The applicants are ranked in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score as per the age, work experience, education, and language skills. The high-scoring applicants receive invitations to apply for permanent residence through the regular Express Entry draws.
The candidates who are selected in the provincial Nomination are eligible for additional 600 CRS points in the next Federal express entry draw; thus, their selection in the next EE draw is guaranteed.
About the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).
The appellants who wish to benefit through the provincial Nomination of Manitoba Province need to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the Manitoba province. After the selection, the applicants are enabled to receive an LAA through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams. The applicants are ranked out of 1,000 points for their human capital factors, and also their connections to Manitoba are also tested.
The Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams are designed to help skilled and experienced workers relocate and help the province meet the labor market requirement.
The Skilled Workers Overseas Category Candidates need to demonstrate connections to Manitoba with the help of close family ties, previous experience in Manitoba, or if the applicant has an invitation through one of Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. For undertaking the proceedings, the applicant does not need to be living in Manitoba when his applicant was eligible.
Under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, those candidates who wish to be selected, it is important that they have a full-time job offer which is continuous from a provincial employer; also, those International graduates who had completed their education in Manitoba can also receive an LAA under the International Education Stream of Manitoba if they demonstrate that they have in-demand skills. Every Canadian Province is interested in training the talent in their own country.
With this latest draw which is also a fourth of the province; Manitoba has incited 993 applicants so far in 2021.
