    Manitoba Province holds a new PNP draw and it invited 299 candidates

    On March 11, The easternmost Prairie Province, Manitoba, conducted the fifth draw of the year and selected 299 immigration candidates. The Skilled workers and international graduates were issued Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) In three streams - Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Workers Overseas.

    The breakdown of the draw was as follows:

    • Skilled Workers in Manitoba— 261 invitations with a minimum score of 459;
    • International Education Stream— 3 invitations with a minimum score of 728; and
    • Skilled Workers Overseas— 35 invitations.
    • In this draw, there were also 35 LAAs that went to Express Entry candidates.

    Manitoba - Express Entry

    Express Entry is one of Canada's leading Immigration pathways, and it helps Skilled Workers relocate in six months or even less in some instances. The invitations are issued by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, and the applicants are picked from the Express Entry pool based on their score. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score is calculated based on the following factors - age, work experience, education, and language skills.

    The applicants are allotted 600 bonus points in the Express Entry system after they received the nomination through the Provincial Nominee Program.

    About the MPNP

    The applicant can benefit from the provincial nomination after they have registered an Expression of Interest with the MPNP. Thus, the Manitoba desiring applicant will be able to receive an LAA through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams. The points get calculated out of 1000, and the applicant and those applicants can also develop a connection to the province.

    Manitoba's skilled workers are selected through two streams: The Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers in Manitoba streams. Both these streams are designed to allow the province to identify candidates who could contribute to the economy and help meet the labor market demand.

    The Skilled Overseas candidate needs to demonstrate connections to Manitoba; this could be through close family ties, previous experience in Manitoba, or an invitation through one of Manitoba's Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. The applicant need not be living in Canada at the time of the appellation to be eligible.

    For the skilled workers, the applicant needs to have a Full-time Job offer from a provincial employer. The International Graduates who have completed their education in Manitoba can receive an LAA under the International Education Stream provided that they have the required skills for the job.

    Manitoba province has invited a total of 1,292 candidates so far in 2021.
