The aspirants for Canada Immigration, who are French speakers they are eligible for high points. Marco Mendicino, Canada's immigration minister, has announced recently that French-speaking and bilingual candidates will be eligible for additional points in the Express Entry system. As per the new targets, Canada will admit 4.4 percent of French-speaking immigrants outside of the Quebec region by 2023. Once the travel restrictions are lifted, the new initiative will help meet the Canada Immigration target. In 2019, the French-speaking immigrant's percentage increased to 2.82 percent, and this included people outside Quebec. These steps have been taken to help support the development of Francophone minority communities. Quebec is not included in these measures as it has its own laws and immigration rules.

The Express Entry system is continuously changing to make the integration of Francophone and bilingual immigrants easier and flexible. Attempts have been made to create jobs and help the Francophone communities flourish.

There are more than 60,000 French-speaking immigrants who have come to Canada between 2003 and 2019. In 2019, the number was 8,645 new French-speakers. IRCC has also invested over $40.8 million in five years to support a Francophone integration pathway and policy development.

The IRCC regularly conducts the draw every two weeks. Despite the Pandemic situation, it has been seen that IRCC is holding bigger draws than earlier in the draw of 14th October, which was the last draw; there were 4,500 ITAs issued to the Express Entry candidates. Till now, 82,850 ITAs have been issued this year. It has turned out to be a record-breaking year despite all the travel restrictions and other possible obstacles that were faced by the aspirants. IRCC has displayed that it is ready to take measures to help meet the immigration targets.

Also, French-speaker's number has also significantly increased from 4.5% in 2018 to 5.6% in 2019.
