In the recent express entry draw, there was 5000 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Express Entry candidates who got selected on March 18. the Selected appellants were expected to have a comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score of 449 to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The appellants who are shortlisted in the CEC specific category should have work experience in a full-time, skilled and continuous occupation and also the intermediate official language skills.

The Express Entry draw – March 18, 2021
The Tiebreak rule in the latest Express Entry draw was set before February 19, 2021, UTC. The Tiebreak rule is applied to select among the applicants who have the same CRS score of 449. With the CEC only draw, it is clear that the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is continuing to select and prioritize in-Canada immigration applicants to meet the immigration targets as long as travel restrictions are still in place. As per the latest IRCC reports of March 8, there was about 77 percent of Express Entry candidates in Canada are eligible to be selected under the CEC specific program.
Before this, the Express Entry draw of March 17 was a draw that targeted Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. PNP candidates also have a strong chance this year as the temporary skilled workers are getting permanent. The appellants who receive the PNP nomination are eligible for 600 bonus points in the federal Express Entry system in the subsequent draw.
The biggest and the largest CEC specific draw of 2021 was on February 13, in which the IRCC invited a total of 27,332 immigration candidates. It is the highest number so far in any draw, and it has brought IRCC very close to meeting the Immigration targets set for the year. It was indeed a record-smashing draw, and thanks to it, the ITAs issued in 2021 are already 43,840. It is way more than 19,368 ITAs issued last year around this time.
Since 2020 was a slow year for Immigrations because of the coronavirus, the IRCC has set the high immigration target for 2021 at 401000 new immigrants. Out of these numbers, 108500 applicants are expected to come through express entry managed programs.
What is Express Entry System for Canada immigration?
Express Entry System is an immigration program for skilled workers with three streams for the pathway -Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
The applicants can enter the express entry pool through any of these three subcategories, and then they are picked by meeting the point score requirement. The applicants are assessed as per the age, education, work experience, language proficiency in English or French, as well as other factors, and all those applicants who meet the high scores are shortlisted. These appellants receive the ITA, which needs to be responded to in 60 days, along with the documents.
