On April 28, Canada selected 381 Express Entry candidates for permanent residence in a PNP-only draw. It means the appellants had previously received the nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The CRS score cut-off was set at 717 points which is the lowest so far in 2021 and also 36 points lower than the previous PNP specific draw.

Since an applicant receives 600 points on the provincial nomination, that means the selection score of the applicants selected in this draw without the nomination is 117 points.
The tie-break rule was set before March 16, 2021, at 21:20:50 UTC. It is applied to help select from the applicants who have the same CRS score. The Tiebreak rule is an administrative requirement rather than an actual tie.
Canada is focusing on temporary workers in the draws.
Canada has the target of 401,000 new permanent residents in 2021, But since the start of the year, IRCC has only held program-specific Express Entry draws. There are 108,500 invites that are expected to be issued through the Express Entry-managed programs. Till now, Canada has already selected 55,771 Express Entry candidates. The biggest draw of the year was held on February 13, in which in a single draw, 27332 CEC-specific applicants were selected. Out of these appellants invited there is 90 percent are already living in Canada.
PNP applicants require work experience, study experience, or some other connection to a province to be selected for a nomination. The proportion of these applicants is more.
As per the latest trend, the IRCC holds two Express Entry draws every two weeks. In one draw, it selects PNP-only candidates, and in the other draw, EE invites CEC-only candidates. There is a higher score requirement in the PNP-specific draws because of the 600-point score allocation at the time of nomination.
In order to meet its target requirement, Express entry has created six new programs. These streams are designed to help essential workers and international student graduates. from 6 may, Canada will open doors for 90,000 new immigrants and also unlimited French-speaking essential workers and graduates.
What is Express Entry System?
Express Entry System is an immigration pathway that helps select skilled workers through three streams Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program.
The applicants are selected based on meeting the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which is calculated as per work experience, education, age, official language skills, and other factors. It is the high-scoring applicants from the pool who are selected for relocation. The selected appellants receive the ITA, which should be responded to in 60 days with eth required documents.
The PNP program also selects applicants from the express entry pool with the help of their enhanced PNP streams. The PNP selection is the best alternative in case the applicant is unable to be selected through the express entry program.
