The required comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score of the selection of applicants was set at 739. It was a provincial nomination specific draw, and this the CRS requirement might seem high at the first bit since it was a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP); the applicant who already had the provincial nomination had extra 600 points in the   Federal Express entry score calculation that means the original human capital score was a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 139 with any nomination.

The Important Aspects of the draw:

    • ITA Sent – 671
    • CRS score - 739

The 671 applicants who got selected in the latest draw were shortlisted after the tie break rule was applied for the applicants with the same CRS score requirement. The Tiebreak rule was set before 16 February 2021 at 19:10:25 UTC. with the latest draw; the Canadian government has issued 38,657 Invitations to Apply (ITA). this number is way more than the ITAs issued last year around the same time; in 2022, there were fewer immigrations done because of the coronavirus pandemic; therefore, this year, in 2021 Canadian government has set a high admission target of welcoming 401,00 newcomers and most of them will be admitted through Express Entry system

Prior to this, the last Express Entry draw was on 13 February 2021, and it was the biggest draw of Express with the lowest CRS score requirement ever of 75 points. The IRCC issued 27,332 ITAs in a single draw.

Generally, the express entry draw is conducted after every fortnight, but this time, it has been unusual as the draw came after 22 days. the previous draw was for Canadian Experience Class appellants, and this time, it is for the Provincial Nominee Program applicants

In 2021 there has not been a single all program express entry draw so far.

What is the Express Entry System?

The federal Express Entry system is for skilled worker’s immigration, and there are three streams under this program Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates are shortlisted from the pool, and they are given points as per age, education, work experience, and language ability in English or French. For selection, there is no job offer required, but the High scoring appellants are picked from the pool of applicants, and they are given an invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. After receiving the ITA, the candidate has 60 days to apply along with documents for the PR.

Those appellants who are unable to immigrate through the express entry program can apply through the alternative program of provincial nomination for immigration. The applicants selected in the PNP they are eligible for additional 600 bonus points in the federal point score calculation. Every province has its own selection system through which the labor market gap can be adequately met.
