The assessment of the candidates is done on the point measurement basis in which the factors that are considered are Age, Language Proficiency, Education, Work Experience, and Adaptability. Further, there are three subcategories of selection – Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program(FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). For any of the subcategory, there are no job offers required.
- Provincial Nominee Program (Saskatchewan, Ontario, Alberta, and Nova Scotia) – The Provincial Nominee Program(PNP) is a province based nomination of the candidates in which each province would give the nomination to the candidates based on the fact that they have met the eligibility criteria of selection for that province. The eligibility of the province is based on various factors depending on the labor market demand in that province and the eligibility. Therefore, it is different in every province. For provinces like Saskatchewan, Ontario, Alberta, and Nova scotia, no Job offer letter is required for selection. Those candidates who are selected for a provincial nomination are also eligible for an extra 600 point in the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score as well.
- Quebec Skilled Workers Program (QSWP) – The Quebec region doesn't require a job offer letter for selection. It has its own eligibility criteria for the selection of the candidates, and it places a lot of value on the knowledge of the French language. The process of selection for the Quebec region is divided into two parts – first, the approval needs to be garnered from the Quebec region, and certificate of selection(CSQ) is received, and secondly, approval from the federal government is garnered.
