On 5th January 2020, the first PNP draw of B.C. was announced in which 168 candidates were invited to for permanent residence.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Selected applicants through the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration streams, and the subcategories were Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled.

The minimum scores in different subcategories to receive an invitation was the following -

  • Skills Immigration: Skilled Worker: 95
  • Skills Immigration: International Graduate: 95
  • Skills Immigration Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled: 77
  • Express Entry BC: Skilled Worker: 99
  • Express Entry BC: International Graduate: 99


The coronavirus pandemic has gravely affected the Immigrations to Canada, and some of the occupations are therefore excluded from the recent draws by British Columbia. The excluded occupations include – NOC The 0621, 0631, 0632, 0651, 3236, 6211, 6311, among few others.

The Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC (EEBC) aims to select and retain international graduates and skilled workers who have the qualifications, education, and work experience to meet the labor market requirements of B.C. To be selected, the applicant should create an online profile in one of those two streams and also register under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). After the creation and registration, the applicants are then evaluated as per the job location, education, work experience, proficiency in English, and salary. Those applicants who are selected can apply with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

The applicants receiving a nomination from British Columbia are eligible for 600 points in the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This guarantees their receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry Draw.
