The latest Draw of British Columbia invited 108 candidates in the tech pilot

In the latest provincial draw of British Columbia, which took place this month, there are 108 candidates invited. The October 5 Draw was conducted under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), and the job offers were given to the technology sector through the weekly draws.

The candidates in the latest draw were selected through the skilled workers and International Graduate subcategories in the skill immigration and Express Entry British Columbia streams.

The minimum score required for selection was 70 points. It is ten points less than the last BC PNP tech pilot draw in which the score requirement was set at 80 points.

How to get selected in the BC Tech Pilot Draw?

The immigration to British Columbia is point-based, just like for all the other provinces of Canada. The point system used is Skill Immigration Registration System(SIRS). The pints determine whether the candidate is suitable for immigration or not. The score is based on a lot of factors like age, language, work experience, and education, etc.

The shortlisted candidates are allotted a time of 30 days to apply from the date of the invitation, and they can submit an application via the BC PNP Online Registration system. An ITA doesn’t guarantee approval for nomination.

To be considered for the BC PNP, the candidates should have a full-time job offer from an employer in the province. The applicant should have the job offer in one of the 29 eligible occupations listed on the tech pilot list.  The candidates need to have a valid job offer of at least one year and should have 120 days left in the valid job at the time of the application.

It is the top-scoring appellants who are selected for the provincial nominee program Tech pilot draw, and they are eligible for 600 additional points in the federal express entry score calculation.

With this draw, there are 9000 applicants have been invited so far in the BC PNP Tech Pilot draw. It is one of the most successful streams of BC launched in 2017 and has been extended and made permanent owing to its success.
