The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 367 immigration candidates for a provincial nomination in the latest draw. The applicants were eligible for the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream. These were temporary skilled workers with job offers in skilled occupations in the province. The PNP also has two streams -International Education Stream and Skilled Workers Overseas.
The skilled workers selected in the latest draw should have an Expression of Interest (EOI) as follows:
· Skilled Workers in Manitoba— 301 invitations with a minimum EOI score of 440;
· Skilled Workers Overseas— 11 invitations with a minimum EOI score of 721; and
· International Education Stream— 55 invitations with no EOI score requirement.

Manitoba province has selected a lot of international talent in the past. With the latest draw, Manitoba province has now invited 2,636 PNP candidates. The provincial nomination doesn’t guarantee a PR status, but the appellant can apply for PR status after getting the nomination. The candidates who wish to benefit from the nomination can register through an expression of interest. this puts the appellant in a position to receive an LAA through the two streams – Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams
Manitoba selects appellants with a 1,000 points mark for their human capital factors and also based on whether the appellant has a connection to the province.
The Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers Category
Both these categories, Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers Category, help identify the appellants who can meet the labor market needs. For this, the applicant needs to have connections to Manitoba through close family ties, previous experience in the province, or apply through Manitoba’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. The applicant need not be living in Manitoba at the time of application. To be selected in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, the applicants need to have a full-time job offer from a local employer.
International graduates who have studied in Manitoba can receive an LAA under the International Education Stream, provided that they have in-demand skills. The three immigration pathways for International Education Stream are -
· the Graduate Internship Pathway;
· the Career Employment Pathway; and
· the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot.
Express Entry to Manitoba
The Express Entry system is an enhanced stream that is linked to the federal government. Manitoba can pick applicants from the Express Entry pool and allows the applicant with 600 additional points in the subsequent express entry draw upon selection.
