British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held two draws on February 16, 2021, and invited 494 immigration candidates in two different Provincial Nominee Program draws. There were 459 applicants selected from the Skills Immigration (S.I.) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams. The selection streams were subcategorized into Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled categories of skilled immigrations and Express entry British Columbia. The selection score was set in the range of 85 and 104 points.

There were 35 applicants who were selected in the retail and wholesale trade managers and restaurant and foodservice managers’ sectors. The province explained that the draws were conducted in these occupations due to the high number of registrations in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System. There was also a piece of good news in the draws of province announcing that draws will be conducted in tourism, hospitality, retail and personal services. Earlier, these occupations did not include in the draws since the time the pandemic situation has started.

How can aspiring applicants immigrate through the BC PNP?
The BC PNP invites foreign workers whose occupation is in high demand in the province, and they want to live in Canada. The BC PNP has two main streams of Immigration -Skills, Immigration and Express Entry; these streams are further divided into subcategories. These streams come under B.C.'s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). To be considered under the SIRS, the applicant needs to register an account. Once the applicant has registered, his points will be calculated as per age, education, work experience, and language skills. It is the highest-scoring candidates who are invited for provincial nomination. The appellants who have received the nomination will have 30 days to submit the applicant with documents. Once the complete application is submitted, the province will take two to three months to notify about the province's decision.
How to immigrate with the Express Entry BC stream?
The EEBC stream is aligned with the Express Entry immigration application management system. Express Entry candidates are allotted points as per age, work experience, education, and language proficiency in English or French under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). There are three subcategories of the IRCC's Express Entry programs:
· Federal Skilled Worker Program
· Federal Skilled Trades Program
· Canadian Experience Class
Those candidates who receive the provincial nomination are eligible for 600 bonus points in the federal score calculation. This also guarantees their getting an ITA in the Subsequent express entry draw. It was last Saturday that a historic Express entry draw was held in which 27332 Express entry Candidates were selected in one single draw of the Canadian experience class category. It was a one-of-a-kind draw in which the CRS score requirement was also set at a low score of 75 points.
