On April 6, 2021, British Columbia Province selected 80 applicants in the latest Tech Pilot draw, and candidates were shortlisted under the Express Entry BC and Skills immigration categories. The Important Aspects of the Draw- BC PNP Tech Pilot Draw

    ·        ITA – 80

    ·        EOI Score - 80

    The BC PNP Tech Pilot

The BC PNP Tech Pilot is conducted by the British Columbia province at regular intervals for in-demand tech workers and international students. The program was launched in 2017, and it has been one of the most lucrative and successful programs of British Columbia province; therefore, it has been extended until June 2021.

To be considered in the latest BC PNP draw, the applicant needs to be registered in one of B.C.'s existing provincial immigration streams, and they should also have a legal and valid job offer of a minimum of one-year full time in one of the Tech Pilot's 29 eligible occupations.

The applicants who are looking to be selected in the categories of Skills Immigration or Express Entry BC, the appellants should have a Profile created in the BC PNP's online portal, and they should also be registered under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

Applicants are provided a score with which they are given a score in the invitation round. The applicant's scores are calculated as per education, years of direct work experience, and having a B.C. employment offer.

In 2021 so far, British Columbia has conducted 19 draws in different PNP categories and streams. There are almost 3,000 candidates selected to apply for a provincial nomination.

    Express Entry System

The skilled workers are able to immigrate to Canada through the Express entry program conveniently. The applicants can relocate in six months through this program, and they are selected in three different streams –

    ·        Federal Skilled Workers Program

    ·        Federal Skilled Traders Program

    ·        Canadian Experience Class

Those appellants who receive the nomination through the express entry linked stream are eligible for the extra 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points in the next Express entry Score calculation. This guarantees an Invitation To Apply (ITA) in the next draw.

The federal express sentry draws are conducted twice a month ideal. The previous draw was conducted on March 31 and April 1 where 5, 284 invitations got sent in the last draws. In this year, IRCC has issued 49,124 applications already, which is nearly half of its immigration target of new Express Entry candidates in 2021. At this time in 2020, the IRCC had issued 22,600 Invitations only.

For the year 2021, there has been a new immigration target set in which 401,000 new immigrants will be welcomes for permanent residency through the express entry-aligned streams. There is also a high target of PNP selections set for the year 2021, i.e., 80,800. With high ITAs sent so far, it appears that IRCC is resilient to meet its immigration targets.
