4200 immigration candidates are invited in 162nd Express Entry Draw

4200 immigration candidates are invited in 162nd Express Entry Draw

In the latest all program express entry draws, 4200 candidates got the ITAs. The CRS score of selection was 475, which is one point lower than the CRS score required in the previous 5th August draw.

In the most recent Express Entry Draw held on 2nd September 2020, there were 4200 invitations sent to the shortlisted candidates. FSWP candidates issued invites in the latest draw, which was the third all program draw since the COVID 19 pandemic has hit the world. Draw number 162 of the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) selected applicants with the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for selection of 475. It means all those applicants who will score 475 points and above are selected for Canada Immigration. The score is one point lower than the minimum CRS score requirement of the previous all-program draw held 5th August.

Important aspects of the draw -

  • ITAs – 4200
  • CRS requirement - 475

It was the second-largest draw of express entry in 2020. With 4200 invitations to apply for permanent residence, it can be called one of the high invites draw. Before this, in the 19th February 2020 invitation round, there were 4500 invitations issued, but this was before the COVID 19 pandemic had become rampant. Issuing many invites means that Canada is committed to welcoming a large number of invites in 2021. For most of 2020, IRCC has been issuing 3900 invites every two weeks through a program-specific draw of Express entry. The draw of today was a bit larger than the earlier draws as 300 more invites were issued.

With this latest draw, which was also the 29th Draw of 2020, there were 69950 invitations sent so far through the Express Entry candidates. The IRCC applied the tie break rule at 14:17:32 UTC on 2nd September 2020. that means applicants with the CRS score of 475 and above are eligible to receive an ITA. The tie break rule helps to rank candidates who have the same CRS score. Factors that affect the cut-off CRS score are the draw's size and the time between the draw. Shorter Intervals means lower CRS score requirement.

While having a valid job offer is not mandatory for Canada Immigration through Express Entry, the Full-time job applicants are eligible for extra points.
